Until other unrelated, viable sources are found confirming her maiden name, researchers cannot be sure it was Davis. John Davis Garrard is known to have erred in identifying the maiden name of the wife of William Barron, Jr. (Prudence's son). Records show William Jr's wife was named Martha "Patty" Smith. Garrard identified her as Martha "Patty" Farr - and he actually was acquainted with Martha! ...
