    J.P. 16 yrs, Hillsdale Co Michigan and US Senator and State Representative, Democrat.

    George served as a private, enlisting at Lancaster, Penn. November, 7, 1814. Capt. Thomas Horell's Company 16th US Infantry. At Battle of Cook's Hill on Lyons Creek, Upper Canada, he received a gunshot wound on the knee. Discharged June 1815, Pensioned from disability June 1, 1815. -- Page 111 Soldiers of the War of 1812 who died in Michigan (Compiled by Mrs. Alice Turner Miller, Ithaca, Michigan 1962.)
