Marie Magdalene Gross
1821 -
Generation: 1
1. Marie Magdalene Gross was born in 1821 in Alsace. Notes:
b. circa 1821. Alsace, France
d. 15 Nov 1881, Medina County, Texas
buried. St Louis Catholic Cemetery, Castroville, Medina County
There is a record in Medina County's RootsWeb Marriages that shows a Mary Magdalena Stein marrying Joseph Beck. After some research (Ancestry.com Texas marriages and the 1880 Census of Medina County), this is Linna Stein b. 1849 from the other Stein family that pops up in the 1860 Bexar county census headed by mother Mary from Nassau (Mabel 8, Kate 6, Mary 15).
I cannot find this Mary after the 1850 census. In the family's 1860 census, she is not there. So I am presuming that she passed away in between 1850 and 1860.
The headstone of a Magdalena Stein in the St. Louis Cemetery in Medina County indicates this lady died in 1881. I still have no proof that she lived past 1860.Marie married Etienne Stein in 1842 in Alsace, France. Etienne was born in 1787 in Friesen, Haut Rhin, Alsace, France. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

JFM: The original of Maria Claves list shows 'second time' under the family #9. Also it is a group of 5 so they must have been carrying an infant.
